I don’t know why I am depressing myself by reading all of these.
Every candidate should be asked two questions:
What do you think being in the Shadow Cabinet, and therefore leading for the party in a policy area, means – ie what does the job consist of?
Can you give examples of your work which are directly relevant to the role as you outline it in your answer to the question above?
We’re in danger of getting a bunch of Roger (and Rebecca) Irrelevants…well-meaning PLP lobby-fodder who just aren’t up to the job of driving policy development, leading a team and performing well on TV, but who can turn a vote out from their colleagues.
