I’m afraid to say it, but Liam’s message he left for his successor has come back to haunt us. I know it was a joke, but Liberal Democrats are not known for their sense of humour at the moment!
And it doesn’ refer to his coffee order. He left a private note which was ill-judged, and probably the result of frustration as much as anything else. But he’s numerate, hard-working and not bonkers when it comes to the deficit or politics more generally.
Might not be everyone’s cup of tea but surely belongs in a Shadow Cabinet whose first task will be to restore some economic credibility. He’ll have to deal with the note more thoroughly though.
